Just had our first year maintenance checkup on our furnace and water heater. Luke was very informative regarding filters and other accessories. He was very thorough and very easy to talk to. Since buying our home in April we have needed to have our water tank, furnace and kitchen sink fully replaced as well has having maintenance done on our heating and cooling systems. I can say that Boonstra as assembled amazing teams of people. They have home comfort advisors who support you with getting the right system for your home at the best price possible. They also are super professional with the HVAC and plumbing technicians. Even their admin team is amazing! Look to them to support your whole home needs and if you join as a member you save on everything. I highly recommend recommend them

We woke up a few days ago to every homeowner's winter nightmare - no heat. With temperatures dropping, we needed help fast. Thankfully, the Boonstra sticker on our furnace gave us an immediate answer for who to call.
Despite it being 10 years since our last service call, the receptionist who answered was incredibly friendly and efficient. She located our account within minutes and had a technician scheduled for us right away. No "we'll get to you sometime next week" - they understood the urgency.
When Luis arrived, we had an unexpected surprise - he was the same technician who'd serviced our furnace a decade ago! We immediately recognized each other, which set a comfortable, trusting tone for the visit.
Here's where the story gets interesting (and a bit embarrassing for me). The day before, I'd installed a termination cap from Amazon on our furnace exhaust pipe, trying to keep debris and critters out. Despite Amazon listing it as "furnace-compatible," Luis quickly diagnosed that this cap was restricting airflow and had triggered the safety shutdown.
What impressed me most? Zero judgment from Luis. No eye-rolling, no "what were you thinking?" Instead, he professionally explained the issue, left us with an open screen cap as a safer alternative, and even took extra time to show me how to properly clean the flame sensor for future maintenance.
Lesson learned: Not everything marked "furnace-safe" on Amazon actually is! But more importantly, when you need HVAC help, Boonstra delivers professional, respectful service from people who genuinely care about solving your problem, not just making a quick buck off your mistake. The first picture shows what I bought; the holes are too small.
Great company, great people. We'll definitely call them again (though hopefully not for another 10 years!).

It was the first cold day of Autumn and, of course, our furnace wouldn’t start. My daughter highly recommended Boonstra, who had done a full HVAC install at her older home. Our call was handled promptly and efficiently. While not an emergency, Boonstra had a tech out that evening. Kevin, the service tech, was great. Our problem was a bit of a mystery and Kevin chased down and tested every possibility. Another tech might have switched out an expensive gas inlet valve. Kevin found a fault in a small pressure switch and fixed it on the spot. He filed copious notes in case it occurs again. The cost was only the basic service/diagnostic fee - very reasonable ! I have no hesitation in recommending Boonstra Heating & Cooling.

Tyler was amazing! He not only kept me informed every step of the way, but was also super friendly with my very large breed dogs, putting them completely at ease. This was the best customer experience I’ve ever had with anyone coming into my home — and on a Sunday night, too! I highly recommend Boonstra and will definitely be reaching out to them for all my future heating and cooling maintenance and repairs.
