Pleased with new humidifier! Current one was installed by builder and was crap from day one. First time calling Boonstra. Saw excellent reviews. April and Leah immediately responded to my initial requests for information and a quote by phone. Two days later, Jimmy and Phil arrived on time, allowed me to watch them do the installation, unit was tested, and I received a maintenance lesson. I was impressed by their friendliness, neatness, caring attitude and quality installation. I know this was a small job, but the whole experience was awesome. Very much appreciated. Will definitely be using Boonstra again.

Gas Hot Water Tank Replacement 01/09/2025. We had an urgent situation, I needed a new Gas Hot Water Tank... pronto.
Mary from Boonstra called me and was able to "orchestrate" a replacement literally within a couple hours of my call, which was the best response versus the others I called/visited. She also gave me a 'no-nonsense' quote which even beat some of the other quotes I got, coupled with the immediate response of an appointment within a couple hours... a double thumbs up.
Mary arranged the dispatch of 2 techs to my home and Brandon was the primary tech. From start to finish, excellent work, friendly interaction, no $urprises, paid for and DONE! So far so good... 10 year warranty... top brand W/H installed... overall, we are satisfied. Deal here with confidence. A+++++

I have no problems at all with the service being done. But I think I do with the administration. On both occasions I was told by email that a technician would be arriving between 12:00 and 4:00, which is fine. But on both occasions they arrived up to 1/1.5 hours before that. Better early then late I suppose. They seemed to be unaware of the time I was told they would be there. What if I had been out?
On the second visit to have a part installed and servicing, the tech upon completion started to go over the invoice. I told him that I'd already paid. He didn't seem aware of that. I ended up having to show him the invoice.
Again, the work was fine, techs were courteous, quick, knowledgable, had answers for any questions or comments I had BUT, administration didn't seem to have them informed about things.

Very happy with the service I received at my home when my furnace shut down on a night that was extremely cold. Chris Sargeant was very knowledgeable and efficient. He got my furnace going and gave me important advice as to my next step. Would not hesitate to call him again. Even though it was after 10 at night when I needed service he was more than willing to explain everything.

I had a heat pump installed and the technicians decided to install my heat pump in the middle of my walkway on the side of my house restricting me access to my backyard. I spoke to one of the managers who said they will fix the issue and move the heat pump closer to my gate on the side of the house where my previous a/c unit was (which would allow me enough room to walk around it to get to my backyard).
I had two technicians come 2 weeks later to move the heat pump and the technicians were not informed of anything from manager or from the initial salesman that I spoke with and had numerous conversations with. There was clearly a lack of communication between all of the employees. The technicians that came advised that they would not be able to move the pump behind the gate and suggested I place the pump in the backyard or in front of the house, even though I was promised that it could be installed behind my gate and away from plain view without any problems.
A month later, I had another technician come to finally take the time to pre plan and talk about how they were going to fix the issue (which should have been sorted out when they attended for the second appointment).
Four appointments later they ended up moving the unit behind my gate, which allowed me to have access to my backyard.
It was very stressful dealing with this company. It appears that they seem to do things quick so they can move onto the next appointment scheduled instead of taking their time to do things properly the first time. I spent a lot of money for these upgrades and I was disappointed with the whole installation and lack of communication/organization.
UPDATE: I have to give credit where due, so I am adding this update. I spoke with one of the managers, Brad about the heat pump and he was extremely understanding and reasonable. He did whatever it took to resolve the situation and made sure I was happy with the placement of my heat pump. The company even extended the warranty for parts/labour on the pump, which I appreciated. Mistakes do happen with businesses from time to time and I was happy that the company took accountability and dealt with the situation appropriately.
